Life Is A Journey - Enjoy The Ride!

Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath: a scientist, mathemati cian,
engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, musician
and writer.
"Life is pretty simple: You do some stuff. Most fails. Some works.
You do more of what works. If it works big, others quickly copy it.
Then you do something else. The trick is to do something else."

Is There A Secret To Success?
-----------------------------------------------------

In my humble opinion, there is no such formula, per se.  But if anyone should know, Leonardo should.  So now he tells me.  I used to have a saying, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again, then try something else".

Success is like religion, ever guru has a sure way to get to heaven with different rules and destinati on dates.

Success is relevant.   Someone could teach you to be a good golfer, and you may even become a great golfer if you have the passion, the drive and determina tion to succeed. But no one can teach everyone to become a good golfer.  And no one should tell you what you can or can't do - that's your decision to make.

And that's the point - whether it is in business, arts, sciences or humanitie s.  It just happens that people are different in temperame nt, desires and talents.  And until you find your mission, no amount of inspirati on will get you out of your rut.  A mission provides internal motivatio n - a purpose for living!

We can instill drive and determina tion into people, but passion and talents are inborn qualities that can be horned into a well-oiled machine when coupled with a determina tion.   A mission is not just setting goals, it's more a reason for living.

A good coach or mentor could do you a world of good by opening your eyes to your true potential s.  A motivator could inspire you to achieve greatness, but it all starts with you and where you should go.

The big question 'where' would you go?  A few people take off like duck to water, but most of the times the path to our success is through trial,  errors and tribulati ons.  Just know that at any point in time, you may get your act together and take it to the max.  In life, timing is everythin g.

Someone said "The only true success is living life on your own terms".  And that will be always be a work-in-progress.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Dr. Seuss:
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You're on your own, and you know what you know.
And you are the one who'll decide where you'll go."

 YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

Don't you just love the way people want you to tell them what they want to hear because
they can't handle the truth.  But life is not as simple as most people would want it to be.

Life comes with infinite possibili ties but no guarantee s.  Its like a maze with many paths
and most of them are dead ends. It's trial and error for most people who make the wrong
choices along the way. There is no such thing as "the right path" only that which is right for
your talents, abilities and motivatio n.

Pick the path which is right for you (at the right place and time) and success will be yours.
Miss anyone of these steps and no amount of positive thinking can prevent you from going
shipwreck ed on the shores of life.

All things being equal,  timing is everythin g in life as in mechanics .  It's how the world turns.

Anyone can improve on their innate talents and abilities, if motivated .  But not everyone has
the same amount of talents or abilities . We all will never become famous; we all will never
become rich; and we all will never utter immortal words.  The catch is you will never know
for sure until you try and give it your 110 percent.  And therein lies the paradox of life!

A simple formula of life would be:  Find something you love to do, and do well and fate will
take care of the rest.

As a young boy I lived on the farm and I was in the habit of planting small vegetable
gardens every chance I got - just something entrepren eurial to do back then.

I noticed that everythin g I planted would grow like crazy and the carrots and turnips, etc.,
would get so big they would crack all over.  But being a bright student in school with dreams
of being rich and famous, I never saw myself farming for a living.  Looking back sometimes,
I wondered if I missed the boat.

We are all born with a little bit of luck - a Midas touch (if you will), a green thump, a good ear
for music or brains for mathemati cal intricaci es, which if nurtured will get us on the right path.

But even talent and motivatio n without luck will never get us far.

A case in point.

All my daughters are very bright and multi-talented.  There is one that I never saw doing
homework in her years in school - yet she was a honor student with many creative achieveme nts.

Everybody says she is "magic" which she may not fully understan d.  But to make a point - she
says she resigned from one job 3 times and every time they promoted her.  Finally they made
her a consultan t with pay so she could leave.  Now, she may be just that good or irreplace able,
but I doubt it.   Life is  strange!

Peak performan ce in life isn't about succeedin g all the time or even being happy all the time. It's often about compensat ing, adjusting, and doing the best you can with what you have right now.
