ONLY IN VEGAS

President Obama was in town this week to promote Senator Harry Reid's re-election.

In the backgroun d was a brewing contentio n with the powers that be here when Obama
said earlier this year that bailout company executive s could not use private jets or trips to
Las Vegas on the taxpayers' dime.

The mayor, Oscar Goodman of Las Vegas, and state governor were livid and demanded an
apology from the president and was expecting to get it on his trip. They claim that rash
statement caused a torrent of cancellat ions which resulted in millions of dollars loss for
the City.

Well, there were no public apology but the Major seemed to have buried the hatchet while
the governor refused to meet with the president until he got one.

COPS WILL BE COPS

Nevada recently strengthe ned their seat belt laws allowing them to stop motorists for not
wearing seat belts and launched a huge crack down on violators .

Within a few weeks of this new tough approach was the tragic accident of a police officer
who was answering a 911 domestic violence call resulting in his death.

The motorist involved was dragged off to jail facing multiple charges including vehicular
manslaugh ter and driving under the influence .

Reports surfaced immediate ly that no one in the immediate area remembere d hearing a siren
or saw the flashing lights of the officer's car before the crash.

After a through investiga tion of the accident, the results show that the officer was
driving between 95 to 110 miles per hour without lights or siren.  To make it worse, he
was not wearing a seat belt at the time either.

The motorist, on the other hand, passed his sobriety test and is expected to have the
charges dropped.

Now, that's just so sad to see such recklessn ess in those who police us. Which goes to show
you that cops are as dumb as they come, and like a lot of authority figures, it's

"Do What I Say, Not What I Do!"

Now the investiga tion has turned to the 911 caller for making a questiona ble emergency call
to find someone to blame.
